What is the NAMO E-Tablet Yojana?
The NAMO E-Tablet Scheme is a digital education initiative launched by the Government of Gujarat on 17 July 2017 to promote digital learning among college and polytechnic students. Under this scheme, eligible first-year students receive branded tablets at a highly subsidised cost of just ₹1,000 (actual cost ~₹5,000–7,000). The total government budget for the scheme was approximately ₹200 crore at launch.
The scheme is managed by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) under the Education Department, in partnership with the Digital Gujarat Portal. Tablets are pre-loaded with educational content including textbooks, e-books, and video lectures, and come with 4G connectivity and a 7-inch screen.

How to Get the NAMO E-Tablet
Visit your college and register
Inform your college that you want to register for the NAMO E-Tablet Yojana. The college will provide details about the registration process.
College enters your details on the portal
Your college/institution enters your personal details (name, category, course, board seat number) on the Digital Gujarat Portal or KCG portal on your behalf.
Deposit ₹1,000 at college
Deposit the subsidised cost of Rs 1,000 at your college or university. The college generates an official receipt against this payment.
Receipt number entered and tablet distributed
The college enters the receipt number and date on the portal. The branded tablet (Acer or Lenovo) is then provided to you. Check the beneficiary list and application status at digitalgujarat.gov.in/Tablet.aspx.
