What is the OASIS Scholarship Portal?

OASIS (Online Application for Scholarship in India from States) is the central government's online portal for managing Post-Matric Scholarship applications for OBC, EBC (Economically Backward Class), and DNT (De-notified Tribes) students across India.

For Gujarat students, OASIS handles the Central Government's OBC Post-Matric Scholarship — a separate scheme from the state government scholarship on the Digital Gujarat portal. Both portals may be applicable to you if you are an OBC student from Gujarat.

Who uses OASIS?

OBC, EBC, and DNT students pursuing Post-Matric education (Class 11 to PG) who want to apply for the centrally-sponsored Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Other Backward Classes.

How is it different from Digital Gujarat?

Digital Gujarat covers state-funded schemes. OASIS covers centrally-funded OBC/EBC/DNT schemes. Both are free. Both can potentially be held by the same student (subject to non-duplication rules).

Amount & Eligibility

Up to ₹1,00,000/year for OBC students. Income limit: ≤ ₹2,50,000 annual family income. Full-time post-matric course at a recognised institution.

Important: OASIS is primarily for the Central Government's centrally-sponsored OBC Post-Matric Scholarship scheme. For the Gujarat state government's OBC scholarship (also available to OBC students), apply at the Digital Gujarat Portal. Many Gujarat OBC students apply through both portals to maximize their scholarship benefits.

OASIS vs Digital Gujarat — Key Differences

Understanding both portals helps you apply to the right one (or both) and maximize your scholarship amount.

OBC Income Limit Difference: OASIS has a higher income limit for OBC students (≤ ₹2.5 lakh) compared to the Digital Gujarat OBC state scheme (≤ ₹1.5 lakh). This means some OBC students who are ineligible for the Digital Gujarat state OBC scheme (due to income > ₹1.5L) may still qualify for the centrally-funded OASIS scheme (income ≤ ₹2.5L).

How to Apply on OASIS Scholarship Portal

The OASIS portal process is similar to Digital Gujarat — online, free, 20–30 minutes.

  • 1

    Visit oasis.gov.in

Open your browser and go to oasis.gov.in. Use Chrome or Firefox. Select "Gujarat" as your state if prompted.

  • 2

Click "New Registration" and register using your Aadhaar number + mobile number + email. An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile for verification.

  • 3

Log in and select scholarship scheme

Log in with your credentials. From the scholarship list, select the relevant scheme — for Gujarat OBC students: "Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students" (Central). Select the current financial year 2025–26.

  • 4

    Fill application form

Enter personal details, academic information (course, institution, marks), bank account details (Aadhaar-linked), and family income information. Verify each entry against your documents.

  • 5

    Upload documents

Upload all required documents: OBC caste certificate, Non-Creamy Layer certificate, income certificate (≤₹2.5 lakh), domicile, marksheet, fee receipt, bank passbook, Aadhaar, and photo. Each file under 200 KB in PDF or JPG.

  • 6

    Submit and track

Review all details, accept terms and conditions, click Submit. Note your application ID. Track status by logging in to oasis.gov.in → Dashboard. Payments are via PFMS — track at pfms.nic.in.

Also apply on Digital Gujarat: After applying on OASIS, also apply for the Gujarat state OBC scholarship at digitalgujarat.gov.in if your income is ≤ ₹1.5 lakh. Both applications are free and can be held simultaneously.

Documents Required for OASIS Scholarship

The document requirements for OASIS are similar to Digital Gujarat, with a few differences for OBC/EBC/DNT-specific certificates.

Required for All

  • Aadhaar Card (Aadhaar-bank linked)
  • OBC / EBC / DNT Caste Certificate
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (OBC — mandatory)
  • Income Certificate (≤₹2.5 lakh from Mamlatdar)
  • Domicile / Residence Certificate (Gujarat)
  • Previous Year Marksheet
  • Admission / Fee Receipt (current year)
  • Bank Passbook (first page, IFSC)

Key Difference from Digital Gujarat

OASIS income limit for OBC is ₹2,50,000 (vs ₹1,50,000 for Digital Gujarat OBC state scheme). This is the most important difference — students with family income between ₹1.5L and ₹2.5L qualify for OASIS but NOT for the Digital Gujarat OBC state scheme.
Non-Creamy Layer Certificate is mandatory for OBC on OASIS — same as Digital Gujarat. Ensure it is current (issued within last 12 months) before applying.
