What Is MYSY Scholarship?

MYSY stands for Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana. In plain language, it means the Chief Minister's Youth Self-Reliance Scheme. The Government of Gujarat runs this scholarship to keep bright students from low-income families in education.

Most Gujarat scholarships are category-specific only SC students qualify, or only ST students, or only OBC. MYSY is different. It is open to students from all categories, including General. The only two things that matter here are your marks and your family income.

The scheme covers the full tuition fee of your course, up to ₹2,00,000 per year. Money goes directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT. No college counter. No middleman. On top of that, you get a one-time equipment allowance of ₹10,000 to buy tools, books, or study materials for your course.

Key distinction: MYSY is purely merit-based. Your academic performance (80%+) matters more than your caste or category. A General category student from a middle-class family with income below ₹6 lakh qualifies alongside SC and ST students.
Important: MYSY is separate from category-based scholarships (SC/ST/OBC) on the Digital Gujarat portal. You can apply for both. But the combined disbursement rules mean the total you receive cannot exceed your actual tuition fees. Verify this with your institution's scholarship coordinator.

MYSY Scholarship Last Date | Year-by-Year

Applications open every year around July–August. The last date usually falls between October and November. Dates shift each year.

Dates change every year. Do not rely on last year's deadline for this year's application. Always verify the current deadline at digitalgujarat.gov.in before you start. The portal sometimes extends deadlines check the notification tab on your dashboard.

Applying on the last day is risky. The portal gets congested near deadlines. Submit at least two weeks before the closing date. If the portal is slow, your application may not go through.

MYSY Scholarship Eligibility | Who Can Apply?

All four criteria must be met. Failing even one makes you ineligible.

80%+

Minimum Marks

You need 80% or above in Class 10 for diploma admission, or 80% or above in Class 12 for degree admission. For D2D (diploma to degree), the minimum is 65% in diploma.

≤ ₹6L

Family Income Limit

Annual family income must not exceed ₹6,00,000. This is the highest income limit among all Gujarat scholarships. Even lower-middle-class families qualify. Income must be certified by a Mamlatdar-issued certificate.

Full-time

Course Type

Must be enrolled in a full-time Diploma or Degree programme at a recognised Gujarat institution. Distance, correspondence, and part-time courses do not qualify.

Gujarat

  • Aadhaar card must be linked to bank account for DBT payment

  • Marks percentage is calculated from official marksheet only, no rounding from estimated scores
Exactly 80%? Yes, exactly 80% qualifies. The condition is 80% or above. The percentage shown on your official Gujarat Board marksheet is the one that counts, not a self-calculated figure.

MYSY Scholarship Amount | How Much Do You Get?

MYSY covers your actual tuition fees up to a ceiling, plus a one-time equipment allowance.

₹2,00,000
Max Tuition Cover/Year
Covers actual tuition fees up to this ceiling. If your fees are ₹80,000, you get ₹80,000. Not a flat ₹2 lakh for everyone.
₹10,000
Equipment Allowance
One-time allowance for tools, books, or equipment required for your course. Credited with the first-year payment.
DBT
Direct Bank Transfer
Transferred directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account via PFMS. No payment at a college counter.
4 yr
Renewable Annually
Renewable for the full duration of your course 4 years for BTech, 3 for BA/BSc, 5.5 for MBBS. Subject to annual conditions.
How the amount works: MYSY pays your actual tuition fee up to ₹2 lakh. If your college charges ₹1,20,000 in fees, MYSY pays ₹1,20,000 not more. If your college charges ₹3,00,000, MYSY covers ₹2,00,000 and you pay the remaining ₹1,00,000 yourself. The ₹2 lakh is a ceiling, not a flat payment.
Renewal condition: To renew MYSY each year, you must pass your exams with minimum 50% marks and maintain 75% attendance. Annual renewal applications must be submitted before the renewal deadline. See the MYSY Renewal Guide 2026–27 for the complete renewal process.

MYSY D2D Scholarship | Diploma to Degree

MYSY D2D is the route for students who completed a polytechnic diploma and joined a degree programme through direct second-year (lateral entry) admission. D2D stands for Diploma to Degree.

For D2D students, the minimum marks required in the diploma is 65% not 80%. This is the main difference from the standard MYSY route. All other conditions remain the same: income below ₹6 lakh, Gujarat domicile, full-time recognised programme, Aadhaar-linked bank account.

D2D students apply on the same Digital Gujarat portal and select MYSY scheme. When asked for marks basis, select "Diploma" and enter your diploma marks percentage. The scheme code may appear as "MYSY D2D" on the portal dropdown.

Do not apply under standard MYSY if you are a D2D student. Selecting the wrong category leads to rejection at verification. Check the scheme dropdown carefully and confirm with your college scholarship coordinator.

How to Apply for MYSY Scholarship Online

The entire application is online and free. It takes 20–30 minutes if you have all documents ready.

  1. 1

    Check eligibility first

Confirm: 80%+ marks, income below ₹6 lakh, full-time Gujarat institution, Gujarat domicile. Also gather all documents before starting. Stopping midway and resuming later can cause form issues.

Check marks from your official Gujarat Board marksheet. Estimated figures are not accepted.
  2. 2

Register on the Digital Gujarat portal

Visit digitalgujarat.gov.in. Click "New Registration (Citizen)." Enter your mobile number, email, and create a password. Verify via OTP. If you already have an account, log in directly.

  3. 3

    Complete your profile

Log in and click "My Profile." Fill in your name, Aadhaar number, date of birth, address, and bank account details. Upload a passport-size photo (JPG, under 200 KB). Verify with OTP. Click "Update Profile."

Your name must match your Aadhaar exactly. Any mismatch at this stage causes payment failure later.
  4. 4

    Select MYSY scheme

From the dashboard, click "Services" then "Scholarship Services." In the scheme dropdown, find "Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY)". Select the current financial year 2026–27. Click "Change Financial Year."

Do not confuse MYSY with other schemes. The scheme name must clearly say MYSY or Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana.
  5. 5

    Fill the MYSY application form

Enter your Class 10 or 12 marks percentage, current course name, institution name and code, enrollment number, semester/year, and annual tuition fee. Enter bank account and Aadhaar details exactly as on your documents. Use "Save as Draft" after each section.

  6. 6

    Upload all required documents

Upload every required document (see checklist below). Files must be in PDF or JPG format, each under 200 KB. Blurry or tilted scans are the top cause of rejection. Re-scan if unsure about quality.

  7. 7

    Submit and print your application

Review every field. Tick the declaration checkbox. Click "Submit." Note down the application reference number screenshot it. Then print the application form and submit it with original documents to your college scholarship coordinator.

Submitting online is not the final step. Your college coordinator must receive the printed form and approve it on the portal. Without that approval, your application will not reach the district authority.
