Before You Start | What You Need
Before opening the portal, gather all your documents and prepare them in the correct format. Starting without your documents ready is the most common cause of incomplete applications.

Step 1 β Gather Your Documents
All documents must be in PDF or JPG format and each file must be under 200 KB. Use ilovepdf.com to compress if needed.
Aadhaar Card
Mandatory for all. Must be seeded with bank account.
Caste Certificate
From Mamlatdar. SC/ST/OBC/SEBC students.
Income Certificate
Annual family income from Mamlatdar. All categories.
Domicile Certificate
Gujarat residency proof (Vas Praman Patra).
Previous Year Marksheet
Latest exam result. Must show passing marks.
Fee Receipt / Fee Structure
Current year's fees from school/college.
Bank Passbook (First Page)
Account number + IFSC. Must be Aadhaar-seeded for DBT.
Passport Photo
Recent, clear. Max 200 KB. JPG format.
Step 2 β Register on digitalgujarat.gov.in
Open digitalgujarat.gov.in
Go to www.digitalgujarat.gov.in in Chrome. Click New Registration on the homepage.
Enter mobile number and verify OTP
Enter your active mobile number. An OTP will be sent. Enter it to verify your identity.
Create a password
Create a strong password (8+ characters with letters, numbers and a special character). Confirm it and click Register.
Already registered? Skip to Step 3 β Complete Profile.
Step 3 β Complete Your Profile
Log in and open My Profile
After logging in, click My Profile. Fill in all fields: personal details, Aadhaar number, address, category (SC/ST/OBC/SEBC etc.), and family income details.
Link Aadhaar and bank account
Enter your Aadhaar number. Ensure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded (this is how scholarship money is paid via DBT). Upload your bank passbook first page.
Step 4 β Select Your Scheme
Go to Scholarship Services
From your dashboard, click Service β Scholarship Services. A list of available schemes appears.
Select your category and scheme
Filter by your category (SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EBC etc.). Select the specific scheme name (e.g., MYSY, Pre-Matric, Post-Matric SC). Select the current financial year.
Click Apply
Click the Apply button next to your chosen scheme. The application form for that scheme opens.
Step 5 β Fill the Application Form
The form has multiple sections. Complete each section carefully:
- Personal Details: Pre-filled from your profile. Verify accuracy.
- Academic Details: Current class/year, institution name, course, admissions details.
- Bank Details: Pre-filled from profile. Must be Aadhaar-seeded.
- Hostel Details: Fill if you are staying in a hostel (affects allowance calculation).
- Family Income: Annual income from all sources. Must match your income certificate.
Step 6 β Upload Documents
Upload each required document in the designated field. Every file must be PDF or JPG and under 200 KB. Documents must be clear and legible β blurry uploads lead to rejections.
Step 7 β Save as Draft and Review
Click Save as Draft
Always click Save as Draft before reviewing β this prevents data loss if the session times out. You can return and edit drafts anytime before submission.
Review everything carefully
Check: Name spelling, Aadhaar number, bank account number, income figures, and all document uploads. Errors after submission cannot be corrected easily.
Step 8 β Submit Application
Click Final Submit
Once satisfied, click Final Submit. The application is locked and sent to your school/college for verification.
Save your Application Reference Number
A unique Application Reference Number (ARN) is generated. Save it immediately β you need it for status tracking and grievances.

Common Errors & How to Fix Them
- Name mismatch: Name on Aadhaar must match certificates exactly. Even small spelling differences cause rejection.
- File too large: Compress before uploading. Max 200 KB per file.
- Aadhaar not seeded with bank: Visit your bank branch to link Aadhaar before applying.
- Wrong income figure: Enter family income exactly as stated on your income certificate from Mamlatdar.
- Application rejected: Read the rejection reason in your dashboard. Most rejections are for fixable issues. Correct and reapply if the deadline hasn't passed.
Scholarship Renewal | Every Year
Scholarship is not automatically renewed. You must apply for renewal every academic year with updated documents. Minimum 50% marks in previous year required. See our complete Renewal Guide.
