The income certificate must be obtained from the Mamlatdar office or Talati office in your district. Bring your Aadhaar card and any existing proof of income (salary slips, pension documents, or a self-declaration). The certificate typically takes 7–14 days to be issued. It must reflect the total annual income of all earning members of the family, and must be current (issued within the last 12 months).
Yes, you can upload a clear photograph taken with your mobile camera instead of a scanned copy. However, it must meet these conditions: (1) All text is fully readable, (2) The document is not tilted or partially cropped, (3) The file is under 200 KB, (4) The photo is in JPG format. Take the photo in good natural daylight, on a flat dark surface, holding the phone directly above.
No. You can use the same income certificate for all scholarship applications in the same year. However, the income certificate must be current (issued within the last 12 months) and must show income within the limit for each specific scheme. If you apply for MYSY (limit: ₹6 lakh) and a Post-Matric SC scholarship (limit: ₹2.5 lakh), the same certificate works for both if it shows ≤₹2.5 lakh.
You cannot apply for caste-based scholarships (SC/ST/OBC/SEBC) without a valid caste certificate. Start the process of obtaining one immediately, visit your Mamlatdar or Social Welfare office with Aadhaar and birth documents. Processing takes 15–30 days. If the scholarship deadline is near and your caste certificate is under process, contact the district office, some schemes allow provisional applications with an application receipt. However, the final certificate must be submitted before verification.
