GoI Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students | BCK-6.1

The BCK-6.1 (GoI Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students) is a centrally-sponsored scholarship scheme funded by the Government of India and administered in Gujarat by the Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. It is one of the most comprehensive scholarship programmes for Scheduled Caste students, covering education from Class 11 all the way through PhD.

Two variants on the portal: The Digital Gujarat Portal lists BCK-6.1 in two versions: (1) Freeship Card students, for students who obtained the Freeship Card before admission; (2) Without Freeship Card, for students who are already enrolled. Both have the same income limit of โ‚น2.5 lakh. If you are applying for the first time in a new year, always obtain the Freeship Card first.
Note: BCK-6.1 is the official scheme code for "GoI's Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students" on the Digital Gujarat Portal (digitalgujarat.gov.in). Distinct from BCK-5 (State scheme for SC girls) and BCK-11 (SC MPhil/PhD fellowship). Freeship Card is a pre-admission instrument unique to Gujarat's implementation of this central scheme.
