What is Shops and Establishment Registration in Gujarat?
The Shop and Establishment Registration, commonly called the Gumasta Licence, is a mandatory registration under the Gujarat Shops and Establishments Act, 1948. Open eNagar Portal
Go to enagar.gujarat.gov.in/DIGIGOV/ in Chrome.
Log in or create a new account
Click New User and register with your mobile number, email ID, and business details. Once registered, log in with your credentials.
Select "New Shops and Establishment Application"
After login, click Online Services → select New Shops and Establishment Application under the Shops & Establishment section.
Fill establishment details
Enter: establishment name, business address, type of business/trade, number of employees, working hours, weekly holiday details, and owner personal details.
Upload documents and pay fee
Upload Aadhaar, PAN, rental agreement, owner photo, and premises photo in PDF or JPEG format. Pay the registration fee online (varies by employee count and registration period).
Submit and download certificate
Submit the application. Note the application reference number. Track status via the eNagar portal. Once approved (7–15 working days), download the Gumasta Licence certificate from your dashboard. Status updates sent via SMS and email.
