The EWS Certificate (Income and Assets Certificate for Economically Weaker Sections) gives General category students and candidates who do not belong to SC/ST/OBC/SEBC access to a 10% reservation in higher educational institutions and central government jobs under the 103rd Constitutional Amendment (2019). No. The EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate and 10% reservation is specifically for General category (unreserved) persons who do not belong to SC, ST, OBC, or SEBC categories. If you belong to any reserved category, you already have separate reservations and are not eligible for the EWS benefit. However, you may still qualify for the EBC/EWS scholarship — check the specific eligibility on the Digital Gujarat portal.
