Why Must You Renew the Scholarship Every Year?
The Digital Gujarat Scholarship Portal does not automatically continue your scholarship from year to year. Each academic year, you must submit a fresh renewal application to confirm you still meet the eligibility criteria, that your academic progress is satisfactory (minimum 50% marks), your income eligibility has not changed, your enrollment continues, and your bank account is active.
Renewal Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum marks: Must have passed the previous academic year with at least 50% marks (most schemes; relaxation may apply for SC/ST)
- No excessive backlogs/ATKT: No active ATKT beyond the permissible limit for the scheme
- Attendance: Minimum 75% attendance in the current year (Digital Gujarat guidelines, December 2025)
- Income limit: Annual family income still within the scheme's prescribed limit (typically ₹1 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh depending on scheme)
- Category unchanged: SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EBC status confirmed
- Active bank account: Aadhaar-seeded bank account for DBT
- Not availing duplicate scholarship: No other major government scholarship covering the same course/period

Step-by-Step Renewal Process
Log in to digitalgujarat.gov.in
Go to digitalgujarat.gov.in and click Student Login. Enter your registration ID and password (or OTP).
Go to Scholarship Services → select your scheme
From your dashboard, click Service tab → Scholarship Services → select your category (SC/ST/SEBC/OBC etc.) and then your specific scheme. The system will auto-fetch your previous year's details.
Select "Renew" option and update details
Choose the Renewal option (not Fresh Application). Update your current academic information: current class/year, marks obtained, enrollment details, and fee information.
Upload renewal documents
Upload: previous year marksheet, bonafide certificate, fee receipt, Aadhaar, bank passbook. All files must be clear, under 200 KB, in PDF or JPEG format.
Review and submit
Review all details carefully. Click Save as Draft if incomplete, or Submit when ready. Note the application reference number. The institution/college principal will verify online.

How to Track Scholarship Renewal Status
After submission, log in to the Digital Gujarat Portal and go to Service Request section. Status stages:
- Submitted - Application received by the portal
- Received by Principal - College/institute has received the application; contact your college for any pending action
- Query by Authority - Department needs additional documents; click Edit and upload the requested document
- Approved - Scholarship has been sanctioned
- Payment Processed - Amount transferred via DBT to your bank account (typically within 1 month of approval)
