How to Check Vehicle Registration Details Online
Go to parivahan.gov.in → Informational Services
Visit parivahan.gov.in → find Informational Services at the top → click Know Your Vehicle Details.
Log in or create account
Log in using your mobile number and OTP. If you don't have an account, click Create Account → enter mobile number, email, and generate OTP → enter name and password → save.
Enter vehicle registration number + captcha
Enter the vehicle's registration number (e.g., GJ01AB1234) and enter the captcha code on screen.
Click Vahan Search | view details
Click Vahan Search. You will see: owner name, registration date, RTO name, chassis number, engine number, fuel type, insurance company, insurance validity date, emission standards (PUCC), and fitness certificate status.
SMS Method | Quick Vehicle Check
To check vehicle details via SMS: Open your messaging app → type VAHAN [space] [vehicle registration number] (example: VAHAN GJ01AB1234) → send to 7738299899. You will receive a text message with basic vehicle owner and registration details.
Check RC Status in Gujarat
Track your RC application status (new registration, renewal, or transfer) at parivahan.gov.in: Online Services → Vehicle Related Services → select Gujarat → select RTO → Status → Know Your Application Status → enter Application Number or Vehicle Registration Number → Submit → View Report.
RC Renewal in Gujarat
Private vehicle RCs are valid for 15 years. After that, renew every 5 years:
- Apply online at parivahan.gov.in: Online Services → Vehicle Related Services → Application for RC Renewal (Form 25)
- Book a vehicle inspection appointment at your nearest Gujarat RTO
- Pay the RC renewal fee (varies by vehicle type)
- After successful inspection, new RC details are updated in the system and a new RC smart card is issued

The Registration Certificate (RC) for private vehicles in Gujarat is valid for 15 years from the date of registration. After 15 years, the RC must be renewed.
