Common Login Errors & Fixes

βœ— "Invalid username or password"

Check Caps Lock is off. Try email instead of mobile (or vice versa). Verify the password, it is case-sensitive.

βœ“ Fix

Click "Forgot Password" to reset. Or try your email if you usually use mobile, or mobile if you use email.

βœ— Captcha not loading / unreadable

Browser extensions (ad-blockers) sometimes block captchas. The image may also be hard to read.

βœ“ Fix

Click the refresh icon next to the captcha to get a new one. Or disable ad-blocker for this site temporarily.

βœ— Page not loading / timeout

The portal gets extremely slow near application deadlines due to high traffic.

βœ“ Fix

Try at off-peak times (early morning or after 10 PM). Switch to mobile data. Clear browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete).

βœ— OTP not received

OTP may be delayed or your mobile inbox may be full. Some networks block OTPs from certain senders.

βœ“ Fix

Wait 2–3 minutes and try Resend OTP. Check spam/DND settings. Try on a different network. Check if the number is correct.

βœ— Account locked after failed attempts

Too many wrong password attempts locks the account temporarily for security.

βœ“ Fix

Wait 30 minutes for the lockout to expire, then try again. Use Forgot Password to reset if you are unsure of the password.

βœ— "Session expired" mid-application

The portal has a session timeout, if left idle for too long, it logs you out.

βœ“ Fix

Always click "Save as Draft" frequently while filling forms. Draft is saved even if session expires, log in again to continue.

If none of these work: Call the official helpline at 1800-233-5500 (Mon–Fri, 10 AM–5 PM) or email digitalgujarat@gujarat.gov.in. Quote your registered mobile number when contacting support.

What is a Freeship Card?

A Freeship Card is an official document issued by the competent government authority to eligible scholarship students. It serves as a guarantee to educational institutions that the student's fees will be paid by the government, allowing the student to get admission without paying anything upfront.

Think of it as a "pre-approved credit card" for your education fees, your college accepts it in place of actual fee payment, and the government settles the bill later through the scholarship disbursement.
