Minority Scholarships in Gujarat
The Government of Gujarat provides scholarships for students from the six nationally notified Minority communities | Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, and Jain. These are administered through the Digital Gujarat Portal and cover pre-matric (Classes 1–10), higher secondary (Classes 11–12), and post-matric (graduation and above) levels. Additional Central Government minority scholarships are also available at the National Scholarship Portal.

Eligibility
- Must belong to one of the six minority communities: Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist (Neo-Buddhist), Parsi, or Jain
- Must be a permanent resident of Gujarat with valid domicile certificate
- Annual family income within scheme limits (see table above)
- Enrolled in a recognised school, college, or university in Gujarat
- Must have a Minority Community Certificate issued by a competent authority
- Must not be availing another government scholarship covering the same period/expenses

How to Apply
Register / Log in at digitalgujarat.gov.in
Visit digitalgujarat.gov.in → New Registration or existing login. Verify via OTP.
Complete My Profile
Log in → My Profile → fill personal details, address, category, income, Aadhaar, bank account, upload photo. Mandatory before applying.
Scholarship Services → select your scheme
Service tab → Scholarship Services → select your category → select the specific scheme → choose current academic year → Apply.
Fill form, upload documents, submit
Fill all fields. Upload clear scans (max 200 KB, PDF/JPEG). Agree to terms. Save as Draft → Submit. Note application reference number.
Institute verification & DBT payment
Institute verifies online. On approval, scholarship disbursed via DBT to Aadhaar-linked bank account (typically within 1 month). Track status under Service Request in dashboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
The following six minority communities as notified by the Central Government are eligible: Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist (including Neo-Buddhist), Parsi (Zoroastrian), and Jain. Students must belong to one of these communities AND be permanent residents of Gujarat to apply for state minority scholarships at digitalgujarat.gov.in.
Income limits: Pre-Matric Scholarship (Classes 1-10), annual family income must not exceed Rs 1 lakh. Higher Secondary Scholarship (Classes 11-12), income must not exceed Rs 1.5 lakh.
